ADA Compliance Office

About the ADA Compliance Office

The UC Santa Cruz ADA Compliance Office is housed in the Office of Equity and Equal Protection (EEP). EEP is a compliance office that includes Title IX, EEO, ADA, and Whistleblower complaint processes. Co-locating these compliance units together helps prevent issues from falling through the cracks and allows the EEP team to track trends and more effectively implement prevention efforts.

The ADA Compliance Office is made up of the ADA Compliance Officer and the ADA Compliance Coordinator. You can learn more about these roles on the “Contact” page. Supporting access on our campus is the responsibility of everyone and many offices collaborate to support the five program access areas. The ADA Compliance Office provides direct service to campus by supporting public access requests, overseeing all five program access areas, managing escalated issues and engaging in proactive efforts to improve campus accessibility.

Commitment to Access and Program Access Areas

UC policy prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability. UCSC’s compliance with the ADA is overseen by the ADA Compliance Officer housed in Equity and Equal Protection. Accessibility is managed through five program access areas and complaints about failure to accommodate for faculty, staff, students, and community members are managed by the EEO Office under the University of California Anti-Discrimination policy. The five program access areas are listed on the Program Access page with links to help you access each office.

Who Can Request Access?

We provide accommodations and accessibility support for:

  • Students: Academic accommodations are available through the Disability Resource Center to ensure an accessible learning environment.
  • Faculty and Staff: Workplace accommodations can be requested through Disability Management Services to support accessible work environments.

  • Members of the Public: Visitors can request accommodations for events, tours, or other university programs by contacting the event organizer or the campus ADA Compliance Officer at adaccess@ucsc.edu. We recommend submitting requests as early as possible to allow time for arrangements.
